Why Reactive PUR

Industrial efficiency for demanding multi-material bonds.

Reactive PUR hot melt is chosen where production speed, bond durability and multi-material compatibility all matter at once — a common requirement across modern furniture and panel lines.

Fast, Continuous Processing

Melts and sets quickly on hot-melt application equipment, supporting continuous industrial production lines.

Multi-Material Bonding

Bonds wood-based panels to films, foils, papers, plastics and selected metals within one adhesive family.

Built-In Application Support

Backed by CONFAY’s formulation, testing and application engineering, and Stärke’s on-ground application understanding in India.

Find My PUR

How We Work

Application engineering, not just supply.

Every recommendation follows the same five-stage process — from understanding your production line to supporting you after the adhesive is running.

01

Understand

Substrate, surface material, equipment, line speed, production conditions and requirements.

02

Select

Shortlist suitable PUR systems against the target process and performance window.

03

Validate

Run samples or line trials where appropriate, and confirm process compatibility.

04

Implement

Align operating parameters, application method, storage and handling.

05

Support

Review performance, troubleshoot deviations and refine the solution as production evolves.

The Operating Principle

The right adhesive is not chosen by product name alone.

It is selected by matching chemistry, substrate, equipment, process window and the customer’s definition of success.

The Partnership

International PUR technology.
Indian application understanding.

CONFAY brings PUR hot-melt technology, R&D, application engineering, manufacturing and technical support. Stärke / Surfactant Industries brings decades of Indian wood-adhesive experience, market understanding, customer relationships and local application support.

Research & Application Engineering

R&D that connects chemistry to the production line.

Confay’s application engineering references simulated lines for edge banding, flat lamination and profile wrapping — so recommendations are grounded in how the adhesive actually behaves on equipment like yours.

01

Formulation

Special polymer development and adhesive formulation design.

02

Testing

Physical, chemical and application-level analysis for finished-product compatibility.

03

Simulation

Application engineering aligned to lamination, edge banding and profile wrapping process conditions.

04

Customization

Customer requirements translated into process trials, grade selection and validation.

PUR Product Solutions

One PUR platform, organized by application.

Rather than a long catalogue of product codes, CONFAY PUR systems are organized around the application they’re built for. Your application team will recommend the specific grade once your substrate and process are understood.

FAQ

Common questions on PUR hot melt.

Reactive PUR (polyurethane) hot melt is an adhesive that is applied in a molten state and then cures through reaction with atmospheric moisture, forming a strong, durable bond used across wood, panel and multi-material bonding applications.

The three primary applications covered on this page are flat lamination (bonding surface materials to panels), edge banding (bonding edge materials to panel edges) and profile wrapping (bonding decorative surfaces to furniture profiles and frames).

Not automatically. CONFAY’s PUR portfolio is organized around these three applications, and the right grade depends on your specific substrate, surface material, equipment and process conditions — which is why our application team reviews each case individually.

By matching chemistry, substrate, equipment, process window and your definition of success — following our five-stage process of Understand, Select, Validate, Implement and Support.

At minimum, your application (lamination, edge banding or profile wrapping), substrate and the material you’re bonding onto it. Machine details, line speed and your current adhesive are useful but optional — use the “Find My PUR” tool above or the enquiry form below.

Our process includes a validation step where samples or line trials are run where appropriate, before a solution is implemented on your production line.
